Junior Eurovision reaches record numbers on YouTube

Record numbers tuned into the live stream of the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The final which was broadcast live from Valletta, Malta, received over 130,000 viewers on YouTube, more than four times the amount in previous years!

During the event week the official Junior Eurovision channel on YouTube received over 4.5 million views, which is more than double the amount in 2015. On the day of the final nearly 1.5 million people watched the videos on the official channel, again representing a massive increase on previous years. During the run-up to Junior Eurovision 2016 the channel surpassed 50,000 subscribers and following the contest which was broadcast from Valletta's Mediterranean Conference Centre, that number rose to more than 66,000. The success of the official channel on YouTube mirrors the success of the official Eurovision Song Contest channel which is approaching two billion views in total.
