Georgia is one of the most successful countries at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and has won the competition twice, in 2008 and in 2011. This year Mariam will fly the flag for Georgia in Malta after being selected by an expert jury.

Mariam has been performing since she was four years old and since 2015 she has studied at the Broadway Method Academy in the United States.

Mariam's song for 2016, Mzeo, was written by Giga Kukhianidze and Maka Davitaia. The main message of the song is love; the song is a call to love each other, love nature and love the world we live in.

Mariam has watched Junior Eurovision since 2010. For her, the competition represents "colour, joy and happiness" and she is looking forward to performing her song on the main stage in Valletta in a few short weeks!
