Fiamma Boccia represented Italy in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Cara Mamma (Dear Mom), finishing third behind Armenia and Georgia. Today we look back at Fiamma's week in Malta.
Fiamma comes from Florence and apart from singing, also enjoys listening to music and being with her friends. She was proud to represent Italy in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Following her second rehearsal Fiamma spoke to JuniorEurovision.tv and said that she was excited about performing in the final. "The stage is beautiful and powerful. Of course I’m nervous because I want it to be amazing, but I also feel confident! I’m very excited and I’m also proud of our job". She should be rightly proud having achieved a top three result for Italy with her gentle ballad. Check out the video of Fiamma's week below:
Fiamma's mum appeared alongside her in the official video for her entry meaning that during the week it wasn't just Fiamma that was recognised. "The decision to be in the video was completely spontaneous. The fact that people recognise me is surprising, I didn’t expect that!” said Fiamma's mum, Bernedetta. After the results Fiamma attended the winners' press conference where she was presented with a trophy. When asked if she had any messages for anyone she said, "I love you very much, mum!"
Fiamma was one of the first to congratulate Georgian winner Mariam Mamadashvili and she, along with so many of the participants of Junior Eurovision 2016, formed strong bonds during the week. For young singers such as Fiamma, the world really is their oyster and Junior Eurovision is part of a story that will continue to be told.
