Countdown to Tbilisi: Unique Ukraine

Ukraine is a prominent participant when it comes to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest: they won once, came second twice and hosted the contest in 2009 and 2013. Let’s dive into the history of Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest!
 

Nazar Slyusarchuk was the first to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision back in 2006. The song ,Khlopchyk Rock ‘n’ Roll, finished ninth receiving 58 points. Two years later, in 2008, Viktoria Petryk finished second with the song Matrosy. Ukraine’s best result came in 2012, when Viktoria’s sister, Anastasiya, won the Junior Eurovision Song contest with Nebo.

Ukraine not only won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, they also hosted the contest, twice! In 2009, the contest was held at Palace of Sports in Kyiv and hosted by Timur Miroshnychenko. Four years later, Timur hosted the contest again alongside Zlata Ognevich who represented Ukraine in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Gravity. 

Ukraine's representative for the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest has already been chosen. Anastasiya Baginska will represent her country in November in Tbilisi, Georgia. Can’t you wait until the result is out? Check Ukraine’s previous participations in the video below.
