Countdown to Tbilisi: Nicole from Cyprus wants to be a star

We are continuing to profile each of the participating acts in the forthcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest and today we focus on Cyprus. Nicole Nicolaou will represent Cyprus at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, I Wanna Be A Star, was written by Constantinos Christoforou. 

Nicole was born in Limassol in 2004 and speaks fluent Greek, English, Russian and has started to learn French.  She won the 6th Annual Talent Show organised by Limassol Theatre Art School in 2016. Nicole has attended vocal lessons with Aliki Chrysochou for the past four years and she has played the piano for the last two years. Nicole is also an animal lover and has a cat, two dogs, a hamster and a little bunny.

About I Wanna Be A Star

I Wanna Be A Star, was written by Constantinos Christoforou and is about young people that need to believe in themselves in order to achieve their dreams. Constantinos is no stranger to the world of competitions having participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for Cyprus three times (1996, 2002, 2005).

Cyprus in Junior Eurovision

Nicole will be the ninth act to represent Cyprus in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The country made its debut in 2003 in the very first edition of the competition and has reached the top ten on four occasions. Last year George Michaelides represented Cyprus at Junior Eurovision with the song Dance Floor.
