Countdown to Tbilisi: F.Y.R. Macedonia’s Junior Eurovision entries

18 September 2017 at 18:00 CEST
F.Y.R. Macedonia participated twelve times in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, only missing the contest in 2012 and 2014. In 2017, they’re ready to participate again for the thirteenth time, but let’s see what the country has been up to so far.

The first ever representatives for F.Y.R. Macedonia were Viktorija Loba and Marija who finished 12th with their song Ti ne me poznavaš. Viktorija is now 28 years old, and has participated in TV commercials and public health campaigns. In 2015 she attempted to represent her country in the Eurovision Song contest, but her song Edna edinstvena finished seventh in the national selection.

F.Y.R. Macedonia’s best placing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was in 2007 and 2008 when the country finished fifth in two consecutive contests. Rosica Kulakova, Dimitar Stojmenosvki and Babi Andonov had the honour of representing their country with the songs Ding Ding Dong and Prati mi SMS.

After temporarily withdrawing from Junior Eurovision in 2012 and 2014, Macedonian broadcaster MKRTV returned to the contest in 2015 and have participated every year since. Soon we will announce Macedonian representative for 2017 but in the meantime you can check out previous entries via the video below!
