Bulgarian broadcasters unite again to find 2015 representative

03 July 2015 at 20:44 CEST

The co-operation between Bulgaria's national broadcaster BNT, private channel bTV, and production company Seven-Eight Production last year brought the country their most successful result in any Eurovision competing - taking home the second-place trophy from Malta. Tonight the two companies have announced that they will be teaming-up again to find the act that will represent Bulgaria in Junior Eurovision 2015 in Sofia on 21 November.

The selection process starts today, and will continue until the 23 July. Young singers aged between 10-15 may send their audio or video recordings to the Slavi Show team. After the deadline, a professional jury of music experts will select the best ones to make the next round. In the next stage, the singers will be invited to perform live in front of a different jury made up of music experts and representatives from the three organisations to select the acts going forward to a live show.

The selection itself will take place on the popular 'Slavi Show', where each participant will sing live on television. The winner will be decided by an audience vote, and will represent Bulgaria in Junior Eurovision 2015. The song that they will sing will then be worked on and presented at a later date.

"We proved how successful a partnership between the public Bulgarian National Television and the private bTV can be when there is a national cause, such as Bulgaria's participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014," said BNT's Director General Viara Ankova. "This year we will work again with the Seven-Eight Production team. Krisia, Hasan & Ibrahim are the main reason we are hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria this year."

"bTV is an integral part of this important event for Bulgaria, because during the recent years we managed to discover the best talents in Bulgaria. The combined efforts of BNT, bTV and Seven Eight Productions brought us big success in 2014. Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim proved how much talent we have in Bulgaria and we should support them in their development".

Pavel Stanchev, Executive Director of bTV Media Group said. Evgeni Dimitrov of Seven Eight Production added: "After the success of Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim in Malta last year, the Bulgarian participation now is even more important for our country. I can even say that this is a great Bulgarian cause, which should unite us. It’s not important who organises the contest or the selection, the most important thing is to select a participant who can make us proud".
