Armenia sends Karina Ignatyan to Junior Eurovision 2019
19 September 2019 at 10:24 CESTOn 15 September, Armenian broadcaster AMPTV held its second national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After a round of auditions, 10 shortlisted artists took part in the competition. 'Depi Mankakan Evratesil' was held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, where ten artists competed for the chance to represent their country in Gliwice-Silesia in November.
The show was opened by L.E.V.O.N, Armenia's representative at Junior Eurovision 2018. The show also featured Roksana Węgiel, Poland's winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018, as a jury member who also performed her winning song Anyone I Want To be. After an exciting string of performances and the voting sequence, Karina won the contest with 138 points.
About Karina
Karina is 13 years old and was born and raised in Kaluga. She is currently enrolled at the 24th Gymnasium. In her spare time, Karina loves the piano and playing tennis. She has participated in numerous international music competitions and festivals, including The Voice Kids Russia, New Wave Junior, Pokolenie Next, Miss Ethno 2019 and, of course, Depi Mankakan Evratesil 2019.
Karina is very excited to represent Armenia this year: “I’m so happy that my dream came true! I’m very excited to represent my country in Junior Eurovision and I will do my best to make everyone proud!”
