Valentina from France has recorded her performance for Junior Eurovision 2020 Nathalie Guyon
Right after winning the trophy for France with the song 'J'imagine', Valentina met with the press online to answer all their burning questions.

The Press Conference was presented by Agata Konarska who connected online with this year’s winner, Valentina from France.

“I feel that I’m dreaming!"

Valentina’s dreams came true this evening when she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. When asked what she will be doing after her successful journey in the competition, Valentina could only think about the present moment and wanted to celebrate with her family and friends. “I’m not really thinking about my near future right now,” she said. Although she does know that it will involve singing: “I was always dreaming about singing and I want to do it all my life!”

France has done very well since its return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the results of Angélina, Carla and now Valentina. “All the contestants were great and had great songs but yes, I dreamt to win,” the 11-year-old said laughing.

A message of solidarity

Valentina said that she hoped her song would share the message of positivity, solidarity and hope for a “better world tomorrow” and wants to bring the Junior Eurovision 2021 competition to her home country of France. “This would be magical - I would love it” the 2020 winner said.

“It belongs to you!”

Agata was then joined on stage live in Warsaw by TVP president Jacek Kurski and Executive Producer of the event, Martin Österdahl from the EBU. Jacek congratulated Valentina with all his heart and wished her a great and successful singing career in the future. He also gave a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the making of JESC 2020, including the team at TVP, the EBU, the audience and of course, the performers. “The team and the performers really provided a great sense of community… I feel you really did Move The World”.

Martin Österdahl also shared some wonderful words with Valentina: “We saw some fantastic emotions when you won. I wish the trophy was with you, because it belongs to you. Congratulations on a wonderful performance, you did amazingly well. On behalf of the European Broadcasting Union, we’re super happy with your performance and with France’s victory. It’s been 43 years since France won the Eurovision Song Contest, so you’re really making history tonight!"

“A star is born”

Host Agata closed the press conference by again congratulating Valentina who went on to celebrate her victory with those closest to her. Agata finished the live stream by thanking all the fans for joining in on this unique and special edition of Junior Eurovision.
