23 December 2016 at 17:00 CET
Georgia has won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest more times than any other country. Earlier this year Mariam Mamadashvili scored the third victory for the country setting a new record in Junior Eurovision. Today we look back at Mariam's win as well as Georgia's two other Junior Eurovision triumphs.

When Georgia won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time, in 2008, it was only the second time that the country had taken part in the competition. Bzikebi lifted the trophy with the song Bzz..

In 2011 Junior Eurovision was held in Armenia and saw Georgia score its second victory with Candy Music performed by the group Candy.

The only other countries to have won Junior Eurovision more than once are Belarus (2005 & 2007) and Malta (2013 & 2015).

Last month Mariam Mamadashvili won the 2016 edition of the competition with Mzeo putting Georgia in the record books for winning Junior Eurovision more times than any other country.

In ten appearances in Junior Eurovision, Georgia has placed in the top five a record seven times. Check out the three winning songs from Georgia in our video montage below.
